|After work been dropping the kayak in a few different spots around Pine Island. My go to lures are the small mini spooks in white variations and have a similar colored paddle tail on a light jig head to follow up when they're short striking the topwater. When the tides up walk that topwater as close to the mangrove edges to lure those larger sized snook out. This is where that kayak works really well getting the right position for the lure retrieve. Plenty of reds to the South of Pine Island and more Snook to the North. And if you find yourself way back in one of those bays that feels like bathtub water, don't be surprised to see juvenile tarpon rolling! Nothing like seeing one follow the topwater and strike about 3 feet off the nose of the kayak!|
